Experiments

Dipper and the others discovered a secret bunker with a lab. We know that there is, at least, 210 experiments, and the one N° 78 is in the mystery shack. So, we can conclude that the author was a scientific. But there's something else, like all these machines, a portal and a sort of a "cryogenic stasis"... All these requires some engineering, and I only know one person who has shown such skills: Old man McGucket (giant robots).

 

UPDATE (spoil):  Okay, so, in fact, Mc Gucket had labs, he knew for the journals
