[s2]Episode 7- Society of the blind eye

Okay, so... A very interesteing episode : Now, we know that McGucket was a brilliant man who knew the author. He build the portal but something went wrong, it looks as if the machine is unstable and this is worse and worse with time ! So he decided to quit the collaboration. He invented a machine to lose memories and created a secret society to help people with their disturbing visions. But, there are terrible side effects. His story was touching, especialy because he certaintly was a good man, with a family and all... But there is one incredible thing, he lost a lot of abilities like vocabulary and reason, but he is always a great inventor ! When he became too insane, others residents of Gravity falls lead the society of the blind eye but this time, they don't ask people their opinion, their memories are consistently erase. There is also a hierarchy between memories, the most important flasks are protected... Like The Northwest one. Blind Ivan, the leader looks familiar, his tattoos recall the phrenology schema in journal n°3... And if we know all the members, who are ordinary people, Ivan is unknown seems to live in the shadow, this is curious.

In Mc Gucket's memories, at the end of the recording, he refers to Bill, we can suppose he met him, and may be that was a part of reasons he wanted to forget the past.

 

Concerning Bill, in a way he helped Dipper, he respected the deal (s2ep4), but he also likes to play with words, he's not the master of manipulation for nothing. He gived them a clue but he mainly destroyed informations about the portal ! All the researches of Mc Gucket was inside ! Maybe we wanted to save time before Dipper and Mabel discover the truth, to let Stan do what he wants without interruptions...

 

Now, STANFORD ! Really, I thought the portal was a positive thing but, less and less. Okay, perhaps it will help humanity but why not the contrary ? It seems very dangerous. It's a connexion between two places, what, where or when is the opposite side ? Is that caused the disappearance of the author or someone else ? I don't think the main goal of Grunkle Stan is the power, there is necessary an other personal reason. Now, only Mabel and Dipper could prevent him to do stupid things, well it's possible that Bill pay a visit to him before....
